01. App access

Once you open the app, the first step will be to set up your access PIN — a 4-digit code that you choose yourself.
Cuvex does not request any personal information. If you lose your phone or are unable to access the app, you will need to download it again and re-link your cards. In other words, no data is shared with or stored on Cuvex servers. All information entered into the Cuvex app is stored locally in your smartphone’s secure element, which means there is no account recovery service.
You can also enable access using your smartphone’s native biometric authentication either during the initial setup or later via the Security section.
02. Link cards to the app and activate Watch-Only Wallet to view real-time balances.

Link cards to the App

On the app’s home screen, you’ll see three sample cards. To view all available cards including the plain white one without a logo tap the “Link more cards” button.
Step 1: Select the color of the card that contains the secret, seed phrase, or BTC wallet previously encrypted with the Cuvex device.
Step 2: Tap “Link card” and hold the card near your smartphone’s NFC reader.

On the home screen, you'll see the linked card displayed with the same alias you assigned to it on the device.
When you access it, you'll get more information about the card, including its lifespan. You’ll also be able to export the binary code (a feature that allows you to decrypt your cryptogram using the Cuvex desktop app in critical situations where a Cuvex device is not available), activate the Watch-Only Wallet to view real-time balances and perform PSBT transactions, and delete the card if needed.
IMPORTANT: Deleting the card from the app does NOT erase the cryptogram stored on the physical card. You can always re-link it at any time using the original card.
Activate Watch Only Wallet ("WOW")

Step 1: Tap the “Watch-Only Wallet” button. You’ll then be prompted to assign a name to the account.
When you create an account, you're effectively creating a standalone wallet where transactions will never be mixed with those from other accounts.
We recommend choosing a name that clearly identifies the origin and intended use of your satoshis for example, “Personal” or “Business”.

Step 2: To view your balance in the app and perform PSBT transactions, you’ll need to link your Master Public Key the public key of your wallet.
Access it from your device by following these steps:
Decrypt → hold the card containing your wallet (created using the Cuvex Dice & Coin procedure) near the reader → enter your password, or passwords in case of a multisig wallet which only you know.
Once decrypted, tap the QR icon and select “QR PUBLIC KEY”. You can then scan the QR code using your smartphone’s app and that’s it, your Watch-Only Wallet is now active.

To access the new menu with Watch-Only Wallet enabled, tap the card. You’ll be able to access your wallet through two connection options:
Standard: This uses your smartphone’s default internet connection, which may expose private data such as your IP address during communication with the mempool necessary to retrieve balance information.
TOR: This option routes your internet connection through the TOR network a protocol designed to prevent third parties from identifying information like your IP address, thereby enhancing your privacy.
Note: TOR connections are not managed by Cuvex; we’ve simply enabled access to the TOR network. As a result, connection speeds over TOR may occasionally be significantly slower or even fail to establish at times.
Once inside, you’ll notice that the main menu now includes new features for full BTC wallet management.
Click here if you want to learn how to send transactions, receive BTC, manage your UTXOs, and more.

You can now connect your Cuvex device via the USBC cable to the power supply to install the latest version of the firmware.
Go to the App and start the "Update Firmware" process, here you will have to enter the 6-digit code that you are seeing on the screen of your Cuvex device.
NOTE: For better security your Cuvex device is delivered without firmware, follow the steps that you will see in the App to be able to install the latest version.
Connect your Cuvex device via your USB-C power cable to any USB-C power charger you have and do not disconnect it at any time until any process you initiate is complete. The Cuvex device requires to be connected to its power in order to operate. You can also connect it to your PC or Laptop. The device only uses the USB-C port for power and there is no data exchange in this way.
As soon as the Cuvex device is powered, the customer can only display the Firmware update screen, which indicates that it is in update mode and that Bluetooth is active to be visible to the Cuvex App.

Important: Activate the Bluetooth of your Smartphone. Now go from the Cuvex App to the Device Update menu and follow the instructions indicated by the App.

First of all, it will ask you to download the Cuvex update to your Smartphone.

Then the App will indicate that it has detected a visible Cuvex device and if you want to connect to it to update the Firmware.

It will then ask you to enter the pairing code displayed by the Cuvex device on the screen.

Important: Android requests native permissions to pair with the device that are different from iOS, please watch this video to continue with the process.

PUSH WITH ANDROID
Native push Nº1
Pair & Connect
Pair
Native push Nº2
Pair & Connect
If you don't see push number 2, look for it in the notification center
At this time the Cuvex device will have generated a pairing code on the Display and will have a steady blue LED on, confirming that it is ready for the secure, encrypted Bluetooth link.

The Cuvex App will indicate the processes through which it progresses until the download of the new Firmware on the Cuvex device has been completed.

The Cuvex device will remove the painted pairing code, turning off its display and blue led, when it has completely downloaded the Firmware from the Cuvex App and is proceeding to install the Firmware and reboot the device.

Once you have completed the verification and installation process for the new firmware, the Cuvex device will reboot and display the logo with the installed firmware version. By tapping on the screen, you will access the initial guided menu, where you will be prompted to select the language. After that, you will be asked to set a "device alias." This configuration will help ensure, in future operations, that you are using your personal Cuvex device. Finally, the operations menu will be displayed.

04. Encrypt a Secret via NFC from the App

Step 1: From the app’s main menu, tap the “Encrypt Secret via NFC” button. The app will prompt you to remove your SIM card and enable airplane mode to block internet access.
Next, enter the text you wish to encrypt. Cuvex currently supports up to 500 characters.
Then, hold a new Cuvex NFC card near your smartphone’s NFC reader.

Step 2: It’s very important to note that the information is not yet encrypted at this stage.
You must now go to your Cuvex device and follow this path:
Encrypt → Text from NFC, then follow the encryption flow to securely protect your secret.
You can watch a video tutorial here.
05. Security
Change Mobile App PIN

From the app’s main menu, tap the “Security” button. Once inside, select “Change PIN”. The app will prompt you to enter your current PIN. Remember, this is the PIN used to access the mobile app.
Note: If you don’t remember your access PIN, you can delete and reinstall the app. Keep in mind that the app does not store any data, so you’ll need to re-link your card(s) and reactivate your Watch-Only Wallet if it was previously enabled.
We strongly recommend making periodic backups of your Watch-Only Wallet Labels. This file allows you to restore all your wallets simply by importing it when transferring your wallet to another smartphone.

Next, enter your new PIN and repeat it to avoid any typing errors. That’s it you’re all set to access the app again.
B) Validate Traceability

The codes on your stickers can be authenticated within the Cuvex App.
Go to the Security section: Menu > Validate Traceability. Enter the codes printed on both seals and tap Validate.

If the box shows any signs of having been opened, peeled off stickers with evidence of the word VOID, remains of previous labels or the codes of these seals are not authenticated in the Cuvex App, the customer must contact the company and not use the device.
